A Truly Dog Friendly
Place To Stay

Dogs Welcome
One or More, Large or Small

We are proud to be truly dog-friendly accommodation, and welcome dogs large or small, one or more staying in the apartment. To welcome them we provide feeding stands and dishes, throws, towels, shampoo, poo bags and a little food and biscuits. As the apartment is on the first floor of the house all opening windows have child safety retainers to ensure your dog’s safety. The apartment garden has dusk to dawn lighting, is fully enclosed and is completely separate from Jenny and Stuart’s garden on the left hand side of the house. With walks from the door including Latterbarrow Nature Reserve along with a dog friendly pub a couple of minutes walk along the road who serve food, and a secure paddock where they can be let off the lead for a run with prior arrangement - what more could anyone want.

Resident Dogs

Stuart and Jenny have 4 greyhounds of their own who can be recognised by their black and gold martingale collars. The resident dogs have their own enclosed garden on the left hand side of the house. With a ‘dog free’ garden between them and the guest’s garden for the dogs staying in the apartment for their own use.

Retired Greyhounds South Lakes (RGSL)

Beech Hill House is also the home of an animal charity who finds loving homes for retired ex-racing greyhounds. Jenny and Stuart have been homing greyhounds since July 2004 and at the time of writing this they have homed in excess of 840 dogs. The greyhounds coming here stay in Jenny and Stuart’s part of the house, share their garden and have use of the enclosed, secure paddock at the back of the house.
